You are so funny. Yeah, it's because blah blah blah. You know that trend that's going around right now? I'm seeing it pop off like huge in the softball community for college players or ex college players. And this trend alone is like exactly why I encourage girls to not only one do their research at the school, but make sure that you like the school beyond the aspect of softball. This trend is like horrifying to me because luckily I had a great college experience, but clearly that was not the result for many college players.
Understanding the statistic that only about six and a half percent of all like softball players in general will make it to the collegiate level To a very large group of that six percent having such a horrifying experience Going division one softball is so glamorized now, which I think is great I think it's such a good aspiration to go play at a level as elite as division one softball is here in America But a lot of girls will end up disregarding a certain red flags just to go D1 and wear that Jersey for that school It is like unreal the things that I'm reading online
And I have my own thoughts separately about this as if you're a player, like I don't know if we should be doing this trend, but I also understand the aspect of, you know, wanting to get your truth out there and being completely transparent about your experience as a softball player in the Division 1 community. And other divisions that are participating in this trend too. Guys, softball should not be the reason you pick a school. You never know what kind of experience that you're gonna have personally there. And yes, there's a transfer portal, but there also is another scary statistic.
is that a third of the athletes that go into the transfer portal never go out and transfer anywhere else. So promise me that you're going to commit to yourself and really do your due diligence on researching the school. If you go to any camps of the schools that you want to go to, talk to current players, ask the important questions. Like, do you like the school? What's your major? How many girls transferred in? How many girls transferred out? And make sure that you like the school beyond the aspect of softball.
